The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) has planned to reduce the target number of companies seeking initial public offerings (IPO) of shares both on the bourse and the Market for Alternative Investment (MAI) within this year.
According to SET president Patareeya Benjapolchai, the exchange had earlier set a target to draw 46 companies for the listing on both SET and MAI this year but the current unfavourable sentiment in the market is likely to bring down the number of IPO shares to be listed on SET.

Noppol Milinthanggoon has been appointed as the managing director of Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding Plc (RATCH) since October 1, 2008.
Noppol Milinthanggoon, 55, has many years of experiences in the electricity generating industry as he started his career at the state-run Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) in 1975, working for the Nuclear and Technology Division.
He had later held several key positions at EGAT before being the assistant governor for Thermal Power Plant Construction, overseeing the construction of all EGAT thermal power plants.

Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding Plc (RATCH) has signed an agreement with PT Truba Alam Manunggal Engineering Tbk (TRUBA) to conduct a due diligence and evaluation process on a coal-fired power plant project in Indonesia.
Noppol Milinthanggoon, managing director of RATCH, disclosed that the Thai company and Indonesia’s TRUBA had signed the memorandum of understanding (MOU) on March 18 to commence the process of evaluation on developing the Kuala Tanjung Power Plant Project towards the potential investment and acquisition in the project.
