The secretary-general of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) yesterday said he was confident in the security measures provided by Thai authorities for ASEAN meetings.

Charoen Pokphand Foods Plc (CPF), Thailand’s leading feed mill and food producer, plans to buy a total of 75,194,164 shares of Charoen Pokphand Enterprise (Taiwan) Co Ltd, worth about US$24.12 million or 826 million baht, as part of its attempt to boost oversea business.
CPF has received an approval from its board of directors since Wednesday, July 15, to purchase the amount of shares, equal to 32.41 percent of the stake in Taipei-based Charoen Pokphand Enterprise (CPE), from five existing shareholders through its wholly owned subsidiary CPF Investment Limited (CPFI).

Thai Airways International Plc (THAI) is now offering special air fares out of its “Fly THAI Get More” promotion for selected domestic and international routes.
In a recent press briefing, THAI’s executive vice president for commercial department Pandit Chanapai said the promotional round-trip air fares, inclusive of airport tax and surcharges, will start from 2,810 baht for domestic destinations and from 4,300 baht for oversea destinations for the passengers in economic class.

AutoAlliance Thailand Co Ltd (AAT), the joint venture between Mazda Motor Corp and Ford Motor Co, today opened its US$500 million passenger car plant at an industrial estate in eastern province of Rayong.
