The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), with leading brokerage and listed firms, will hold roadshows in Boston and New York during June 25-26 and later in London during June 29-30.

SET President Patareeya Benjapolchai on Monday disclosed that over 50 fund managers from 40 asset management funds in each US city are expected to attend the roadshow to hear about Thailand’s latest economic, political and investment conditions, which will build confidence among the foreign institutional investors.

“SET, Thanachart Securities Plc, BNP Paribas Securities (Asia) and nine firms will present information to leading institutional investors in Boston and New York during June 25-26 and in London during June 29-30 under the theme ‘Strength in Global Adversity,’” said SET President Patareeya Benjapolchai.

The companies joining the roadshows represent attractive industry groups, and have a combined market capitalization of 1.7 trillion baht ($49.77 billion), or about 37 percent of total market capitalization. They are Advance Info Service, Bangkok Bank, Banpu, Khon Kaen Sugar Industry, PTT, PTT Exploration and Production, Thai Airways International, Thai Tap Water Supply and Thai Union Frozen Products.
Thanachart’s managing director Asvini Tailanga said, “The roadshows will be a good opportunity for the Thai capital market and listed companies to directly present information to foreign institutions, show the strength of Thai listed firms and the readiness of our country’s economy to participate in the global economic recovery.”
In addition, SET will also join hands with Deutsche Bank and Tisco Securities Co., Ltd. in inviting five listed firms to join to the “DBTisco Roadshows in the UK” in London. The companies in London’s event will also include Charoen Pokphand Foods, Central Pattana, CP All, IRPC and PTT Chemical, which have a combined market capitalization of over 300 billion baht ($8.78 billion) or about 6.4 percent of total market capitalization.

About 25 asset management funds and fund managers join the event in London.
