Malaysia’s CIMB Group to be first foreign listing on Thai bourse

Malaysia-base CIMB Group Holdings Bhd is expected to become the first foreign company to list on the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) when the new regulations on foreign listing on the Thai bourse come into effect next month.

SET president Patareeya Benjapolchai on Monday revealed the new regulations on foreign listing have been approved by Thailand’s Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Thai bourse in October this year and will be effective from next month.

SET and brokerages to hold roadshows in Boston, New York, London

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), with leading brokerage and listed firms, will hold roadshows in Boston and New York during June 25-26 and later in London during June 29-30.
SET President Patareeya Benjapolchai on Monday disclosed that over 50 fund managers from 40 asset management funds in each US city are expected to attend the roadshow to hear about Thailand’s latest economic, political and investment conditions, which will build confidence among the foreign institutional investors.

SET plans to lower number of this year’s new listed firms

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) has planned to reduce the target number of companies seeking initial public offerings (IPO) of shares both on the bourse and the Market for Alternative Investment (MAI) within this year.
According to SET president Patareeya Benjapolchai, the exchange had earlier set a target to draw 46 companies for the listing on both SET and MAI this year but the current unfavourable sentiment in the market is likely to bring down the number of IPO shares to be listed on SET.
