Malaysia-base CIMB Group Holdings Bhd is expected to become the first foreign company to list on the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) when the new regulations on foreign listing on the Thai bourse come into effect next month.

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) has planned to reduce the target number of companies seeking initial public offerings (IPO) of shares both on the bourse and the Market for Alternative Investment (MAI) within this year.

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) has appointed Dr.Veerathai Santiprabhob as new chief strategy officer, as well as the executive director of its Capital Market Research Institute, from January 26 onward.

Thai Beverage Plc, Thailand’s largest brewer and distiller, today decided to cancel its listing in the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) after the protests of about 300 anti-alcohol activists.
SET president Patareeya Benjapolchai told a press conference that she had received a letter from Thai Beverage, dated December 8, saying that it wishes to postpone its listing on the Thai bourse for the time being despite being invited to proceed with the listing in order to end the further disruption which could impact negatively on the country’s economy and society.
